What to do with a dark shady area. Bright colored pavers seem to work here. The cusomer's deck above uses a similar shape and color but the pavers are VAST Permeable Composite Pavers available from BrockWhite.

Many of our jobs are under and around decks. Of these many are having decks rebuilt before we start. We always inform the customer to try and keep deck footings at least 4 to 6 inches below paver grade. This way we can paver over the concrete footings and trim right up to the posts. This job already had the deck footings in place.
